Shauna Gorham is a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Massachusetts. Shauna recently graduated with her Master’s in Social Work from Salem State University (2022) and received a B.S in Public Health and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2017).
Shauna has a wealth of experience in different counseling settings, including public schools, non-profits, inpatient psychiatric units, residential homes, and university counseling centers. Shauna uses an eclectic counseling approach, which incorporates Strengths-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Relational-Cultural Therapy. Shauna is passionate about helping clients feel empowered and seen as their whole selves within the therapeutic relationship. Shauna is experienced and passionate about working with marginalized communities, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Shauna has supported children, teens, and adults who have been diagnosed with Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, PTSD and many other disorders.
Shauna believes that the most important factor in effective counseling is the therapeutic relationship. Shauna is a warm, empathetic, non-judgmental counselor who uses therapeutic humor and positive regard to build strong therapeutic relationships. Shauna is excited to be a part of the Moving Forward Counseling team and help clients reach their individual goals.
