I have 10 years experience in the child welfare field supporting children through some of the most difficult times in their lives. That also comes with supporting the families and caretakers that are part of those children’s lives. Children are a part of the family system and that is essential in treatment. Families and caretakers should be involved in the process of individual therapy with a child.
It is important to support a child individually in sessions but also create an environment where a child is able to share their emotions and feelings with their caregivers as well. I use a variety of different ways to help children open up in meetings such as Play Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Approaches.
I have many years of experience working with adults and adolescents through issues of substance abuse, trauma, loss, and other difficult life events.
The adoption journey is one that has formed and shaped my career experiences. I have knowledge and expertise to support someone in many different areas of the process.
I enjoy being the listening ear to the worries, struggles, and stressors in your life, but also feel it is important to find joy in life as well. I will help support you or your child wherever you are in life, and together we can find the strength and motivation to view each day differently than the last.
