Hillary Smith, LCSW (she/her)
Hillary is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Child Life Specialist with a passion for working with children, adolescents, and young adults facing complex challenges and trauma.
Hillary received her first master’s degree in child life and family-centered care from Wheelock College in 2012 and has spent the last ten years working as a certified child life specialist providing crisis and acute mental health support to children and families at Shriners Hospitals for Children Acute Burn Units in Texas and Massachusetts.
Hillary has experience working in multiple care settings and various provider roles within the field of trauma recovery including research, professional education and prevention efforts, engagement and build out of community-based groups, as well as intensive volunteer experiences in camp and mental health retreat settings. Inspired by her experiences and the concept of creating her own trauma-focused community practice, Hillary received her second master’s degree in social work from Simmons University in 2022 with a focus on mental health and treating complex trauma in youth and families.
With a foundation in play and the importance of relationships and family systems, Hillary uses open and authentic communication, empowerment practice, shared experiences, narrative therapy, and expressive arts in her work with her clients.
