Christina Fields, LCSW (she/her)

Christina is an LCSW in Massachusetts and earned her master’s degree in Social Work from Salem State University.
Christina has years of experience working in community-based mental health and child welfare settings, providing family therapy and individual support to individuals from early childhood to seniors. She has led Adventure Therapy Groups for youth and has a primary focus and specialty working with children and families who have faced trauma and/or are living with severe mental illness. Christina has extensive experience working with complex family dynamics, whether you or a family member are struggling with addiction, divorce, blending families, adoption, kinship placement, domestic violence, abuses, or grief.
Christina has also worked in primary care hospital settings, as well as acute psychiatric care at Boston Children’s Hospital. The flexibility required of community-based and hospital services has allowed her to practice a client-first approach to therapeutic support, encouraging individuals to lead sessions while gently challenging them with motivational interviewing techniques and a solutions-based approach, when appropriate. She understands the foundational role of trust in the therapeutic relationship and respects the time that it can take to build that trust with each new client.
Christina enjoys supporting individuals who are navigating significant life changes, difficult circumstances, or those who are struggling with detachment in their current lives and want a push towards change.
Christina sees clients in the Newburyport office.
